Gus is my God! He looks like he just don`t care.
Fricke is very arrogant but he has a right to be. He was 19 at this point & had a chance to win the 2007 Aussie Millions. Wheather you like him or not, it was a great accomplishment in his young poker career.
Giving Hansen AA is like giving Jack Daniels and car keys to a teenager...
Gus is a pro. You don't become a pro because of luck, you become one from skill. He made it to the final table, and the final 2 people in a HUGE tournament, and its not the first time! All because of luck? No. Watch his other videos, some are luck, but it all comes down to skill.

Thomas Wahlroos Eliminates Phil Hellmuth |

Phill took it well because he got outplayed and lost to a better hand. Phill knew it this, therefore he couldn't blow up.
In response to Hellmuth argument earlier in this thread, Hellmuth has 11 bracelets because he plays in every event. Most players prefer to play cash -- that's where the money is at. If Chan, Greenstein, or Cunningham played in as many tournaments as Hellmuth, they'd have dozens of bracelets.
Not that this even matters, considering there is a lot more luck in a tournament. Cash game is real poker. Unfortunately, there's no hard evidence way to see who is the best cash game player.
1:20 - 1:30 phil walks away from the table
camera leaves him for a second and he does a sort of terminator insta-turn looks like hes on his way back to punch wahlroos.

A very good play By Allen Cunningham!
Phil doesn't have JJ+ since he didn't reraise preflop. Ans he surely isn't value betting a nine on 3 streets. Only hand that makes sense here is a set, maybe two pair 9T, a straight with 78 or a bluff. And i don't think he's bluffing often enough to make a call profitable. Good laydown.
Amazing fold, you really have to know your opponent to threw that hand away with almost a perfect board for AA, brilliant stuf ! and you would be $35,000 lightier in the pocket and thats why hes 2005 player of the year and your watching him.

Who do u think would win at a final table if put all these together; Jerry Yang, Jamie Gold, Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, and Steve Dannemann and Jennifer Tilly- all extremely overrated players ? I think that Raymer would be the favorite. Yang, Gold and Moneymaker have virtually vanished from the face of the earth since luckboxing the main event title.

"I've done a lot of stupid things myself, but I wanna tell you something for a fact: There is nobody that'd ever beat me playing cards, the only one that ever beat me was myself."
Truly the best poker player of all time.
The second time he played Texas-Hold'em was during the first Hold'em tournament he was ever part of: the 1980 World Series of Poker. And he won it. He won so many times. Heads-up, cash games, tournaments, challenges... His talent was scary and feared. Nowadays you watch poker on TV and these guys, or girls, think they are geniuses. They earn millions of dollars and enjoy celebrities' lifestyle. But, hey, none of them, none, could ever pretend to be as good as "The Kid" in a bad day.
Stu was not only a gambler he was a genius he new how to count cards and was banned by many casinos in las vegas because of his skills. He was also the best player ever in gin rummy he was so good that no one wanted to play him, he never lost. If he was here today he would of dominate the poker fields and would have a lot more bracelets than 11 with all the different events that are out there now. Its sad to see what happend but he will always be the greatest in my opinion R.I.P Stu "The Kid"

Very calm demeanor at the table, he looked like a pro. Too bad he lost. But he still gets over 5 million dollars for 2nd place.
Darvin! Nice guy, happy just being at the final table. You gotta appreciate his mild mannered, calming attitude towards the game of poker.
I hope Darvin wins the WSOP 2009. He's the nicest guy out there, and lady luck loves him. He also has amazing skills believe it or not .. Good Luck Darvin !!
The guy must be pretty tired he just played 8 days of non stop poker ,countless interviews and media attention etc. No wonder he isnt jumping up and down, at least he has a million to look forward to!
He looks so excited about being in the final table....

Sickest lay down ever.
Had to be the preflop raise and the check check that made him put him on AA but regardless... with the ten on the river im at least callin and most likely reraising all in hopin he has like ace 10 ace king ace queen and maybe even king 10 or something... but seriously i have to do the math on this... but i think ev wise.. it was a bad play... fyi for internet players.. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER fold jacks full EVER.
I love matusow's comment about the laydown.
A single jack could beat johnny on that flop, folding jacks full is much harder than folding aces.
For me, Geller's big mistake here was saying "Just don't raise me" at 0:25 - it's obvious what he meant was "please do raise me".
Ace ten would not have beat him.. that would be tens full of aces when he had jacks full.. pocket tens would have taken him down.. he had the third best hand possible in that situation.. behind aces kings and tens.. it was a great lay down.. deller did make a huge raise pre flop and was acting very strong

Wow! Not only a great laydown, but Allen is a classy guy, too. Bravo, Allen.
Cunningham is one of the most underrated players, but still one of the best playing rite now.
Great play by Cunningham, I would have never been able to fold, for that bet.
Flush and straights on board, plus 3 boats. When he added up what he could beat it was pretty much a worse Q or a bluff and it is unlikely that guy is gonna bluff AC. Yeah most of us would have called but then we aren't as good as him.

Gus Hansen, Jennifer Harman and Daniel Negreanu in "The trap" |

Daniel Negreanu is ace.
Gus hansen excellent player to watch as is dan negreanu.
The second trap, when you get a very strong hand on flop and slow play, you should be very careful and be aware what your opponent or opponents have done before flop, dont be 100% sure its your pot, the river or turn card can change the whole situations.
Gus plays traps as well. the orthodox trap would be a slow play where u lure your opponent into betting into you. a fast play trap is continuosly betting every hand and waiting for someone with a half decent hand to call or potentially shove when you could be holding AA preflop. a fast play trap is simply reverse psychology.

I cried over this hand... im not kidding. It is a crime that Scotty wasn't crowned 2007 WSOP Champ... Sad that Scotty got eliminated 11th place over this hand. I think he wanted to fight big stack because Hilm was pissing Scotty off and Hilm always tried to bully Scotty. Hilm previously tried to bully Scotty by pushing all in with JQ high when Scotty had full house. Would've been really nice if Scotty made it to final table at least to show that established pros and champs still got what it takes to make it to final table in main event no matter how many amateurs and donks there are in the event.

You should have won !!!
Guys, be easy on him, he is french, he is not supposed to speak good English. He was the best on final table, and one of the most charismatic players at this WSOP. Had bad beat, even worse knockout than Iveys.
This guy played the best out of everyone at the final table. Unbelievable bad beat(s) to take him out.

He is ACTUALY a very good poker player.
This guy is awesome !!!! F*** the bracelet , im here to win 8 million.... and if i win, im gonna retire from poker. No media no offers just wanna get the f*** outta vegas til november... dude is cool.
Slight respect. He can't help if he isn't what we want him to be, but being editor of Card Player, he should realize that it's good for poker and potentially good for his brand if he wins. But I spose if he wins 8 million, who would care about their brand?
I'm sure his dad barry and doyle brunsen gave jeff a good old fashioned clip over the head for threatening to throw the bracelet in the trash what an ingreat really you play the wsop to win a bracelet, the cash is a nice bonus
